Ameritz Music: ‘You can’t beat local music!’

Ameritz Music has seen some great music events in Warrington this month. The first one was a sold-out show we promoted at Peggy McCools, featuring local artists Gondolas, Freight and Containers.

The venue was packed out and everyone loved the bands we provided. We do see big things ahead for all three bands, so I’ll track their progress in this column.

On the same night we were treated to a show by American country stars Lost Hollow. Lost Hollow came over to celebrate the releases on a song called ‘Buttermarket’. The song was written by Sarge Pete Frampton formally of Poacher. The song is about Buttermarket Street in Warrington.
The event ‘Hands across the Sea’ at the Masonic Hall was organised by local promoter Dave Warwick. Lost Hollow performed in front of the mayor. They treated us to their biggest hits and the cover of ‘Buttermarket’ (with Pete joining them on stage). I am a big fan of folk music, so this was really cool. The local interest of this song, Poacher and Lost Hollow made this a very memorable night.

On the management side, we are now in the full swing of rehearsals for The Lower Angel Band at the Irish Club, on Orford Lane. The show is on January 17th 2026 and as I write only a handful of tickets are left. You can get yours on Skiddle.

On a separate point, we are working on our wellness imprint ‘Mellotron Records’. On this roster we have many very talented artists, from Leeds’ Luke Faulkner (left) to Christopher Dicker (right) from Australia! Our artist roster is spread very far and wide, we regularly cut deals with musicians from all over the world.

The music business is a truly global industry now, with our royalities being sent in American Dollars, Euros and even Japanese Yen! But you can’t beat local music!

That bring us to the end of 2025. Its been a great year for music in Warrington, with lots of exciting things happening ahead of 2026. From all of us here at Ameritz, have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
See you on January 17th at the Irish club!

All the best!
