LONG-SERVING Stefan Ratchford will remain at Warrington Wolves in a new role after hanging up his boots at the end of the season.
Ratchford, 37, called time on his playing career after making 359 appearances for the Wolves, scoring 1,680 points.
He won two Challenge Cups and appeared in four Super League Grand Finals, and won the Harry Sunderland Trophy for man of the match in the 2018 defeat to Wigan.
His new role sees him become the Wolves’ transition coach.
The former captain will work closely with Warrington’s emerging talents as they step into the first-team environment, supporting their on-field development and helping them adapt to the demands of Super League.
Ratchford will also monitor the progress of players out on loan, ensuring their pathways align with the club’s plans.
Next season, Warrington will be able to send players out to Championship clubs on one-week loan deals.
The likes of Luke Thomas, Max Wood and Tom McKinney are part of the first-team squad and last season spent time out on loan.
