THERE were long delays on the M6 near Lymm following a collision involving a car and a pedestrian shortly before 9am on Sunday morning.
The M6 was closed northbound between J19 (Tabley, Knutsford) and J20 (Lymm) due to the serious collision involving a car and pedestrian which occurred shortly before 09:00 this morning.
The southbound carriageway was closed at J19, traffic was diverted via the exit and entry slip roads. This is known as an ‘up and over’ closure.
Emergency services including Cheshire Police, the North West Ambulance Service attended. North West Air Ambulance landed in an adjacent field to J19 roundabout.
National Highways Traffic Officers also provided assistance with traffic management.
Cheshire Police carried out investigation work.
UPDATE: All lanes are now open on the M6 northbound within J19 following the serious incident earlier. All delays have cleared.
