Brookfield Care Home in Lymm has teamed up with Kids Planet nursery for a newly launched adopt a teddy scheme, connecting residents within their home with the children of the nursery.

Residents of Brookfield care home have picked a teddy and named it themselves. They then put a photo of themselves with the teddy and a short message to the child asking them to look after the teddy and share their fun and games with the home, also to visit them at the home for teddy’s tea parties, and make new friends in the inter-generational scheme.
Sarah Nolan, General Manager of Brookfield care home, said: “Residents have really enjoyed sharing their teddies with the young children.  They are looking forward to seeing the children when they come and visit the home to share their stories. The residents at our home have wonderful stories to share with the children too; they’re really excited about the new friendships they will be making.

Brookfield care home is run by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers, which is committed to delivering personalised care across its care homes and hospitals. Brookfield provides residential care for 27 residents from respite care to long-term stays.
