POLICE have arrested a 60-year-old man following reports of a man with a firearm in a garden at Stockton Heath, Warrington, last night, Wednesday.
A large police presence, including armed officers, was seen in the village.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson confirmed this morning: “At around 7.30 pm on Wednesday 5 November, police were called to reports of a man in possession of a firearm in the garden of an address on Fairfield Road, Stockton Heath.
“Local officers, supported by firearms officers, were deployed to the scene and a 60-year-old local man was arrested in relation to the incident.
“The man remains in custody at this time, where he is being held on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.”
