AN APPLICATION has been submitted to Warrington Borough Council for confirmation that proposals for two outbuildings in the grounds of a large detached house on a Green Belt site can be carried out under permitted development rights.
The scheme would provide a garden room adjoining an existing tennis court and a gymnasium adjoining an existing outdoor swimming pool.
Once complete, the two structures would enhance the use of the rear garden by providing facilities to support the existing tennis court, as well as a gym to support the existing swimming pool for the enjoyment of the occupants of main house, Wincherries, The Avenue, Lymm.
The site is within designated green belt land, meaning that it must comply with relevant green belt policy. However the applicants say development which falls under permitted development is still allowed.
They say the two structures would enhance the use of the rear garden by providing facilities to support the existing tennis court, as well as a gym to support the existing swimming pool .
The application follows a previous permitted development submission by the same owners for a proposed rear and side extension to the existing dwelling, a large, detached property with an extensive rear garden, offering ample space for the development of the proposed outbuildings.
“The addition of a tennis pavilion and gym will provide significant health and well-being benefits for the residents, while also being highly practical with the existing facilities already in place. The pavilion, which will accompany the existing tennis court, will enhance the usability of this facility and enable the owners to make better use of what has already been developed on the site. The proposals assist with the upgrade of the existing dwelling for the family who have purchased the property.
Each of the facilities would be private and for the use of the family only.”
Wincherries is close to the junction of The Avenue and Lakeside Road and near to Lymm Dam.
