A residential road at Orford, Warrington, will be closed for up to one week from October 27, to allow United Utilities to carry out sewer works.
The closure will be on Povey road from its junction with School Road to its junction with Capesthorne Road.
Warrington Borough Council has given notice it intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving on Povey Road from its junction with School Road to its junction with Capesthorne Road.
The Order will be effective from 27th October 2025 for 1 week, as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative route will be via School Road, Sandy Lane, Morgan Avenue, Statham Avenue, Poplars Avenue Capesthorne Road and vice versa and via School Road, Birtles Avenue, Capesthorne Road and vice versa. The closure is required to allow for a new drainage connection to be installed into the United Utilities sewer.
