St. Rocco’s Hospice celebrated their 40th anniversary at this year’s Warrington Running Festival with a bed push and special appearance from mascot ‘Rocco’.
Thousands of runners gathered at Warrington Town Hall last Sunday to take part in the 2025 Warrington Running Festival, with St. Rocco’s ongoing 40th anniversary celebrations, proud to be the headline Charity Partner.
To make this event extra special, long standing volunteer James took on the challenge of running a 10k dressed as Rocco our hospice mascot, whilst another team of our amazing supporters took part in a bed push. The event was organised by RunThrough who promote their goal as inspiring an active nation through the provision of inclusive and welcoming running events for everyone. This year’s festival featured a 5k, 10k, half marathon, and 1.5k junior race.
St. Rocco’s were thrilled to provide runners with a free place at the event in return for raising money for the hospice. Amongst these were teams from McDonalds, Clarity Procurement Solutions and Plumbase. Shirley, Fundraising Manager at St. Rocco’s, commented: “A huge thank you to everyone who took part in the Warrington Running Festival in support of St. Rocco’s Hospice. We were delighted to have over 100 runners representing us, raising an incredible £14,000 so far to support patient care here at St. Rocco’s. From our mascot and bed push supporters to every runner, and volunteer, you all made the day so special. The event was brilliantly organised, and the atmosphere was fantastic. We are truly grateful for your support in helping us continue to care for local people and their families when they need us most.”
St. Rocco’s would also like to thank our vest sponsor Clarity Procurement Solutions Ltd, Brian Tuohey for his photography on the day and McDonalds for supplying bottled water.
