LOCAL councillors at Grappenhall say they are delighted to hear that the Old Rectory building in the old village has been brought to market.
Councillors Helen Speed and Mark Brown are delighted to hear the news that the Grappenhall Rectory on Church Lane has been brought to the market for development.
In what will be a significant boost to the village, following ongoing issues with vandalism, the Grade II listed property has been locked in a dispute for several years proving to be a longstanding eyesore in Grappenhall.
The Councillors said in a joint statement: “After years of working together with Estate Executors, who have represented the family and the Council’s Chief Executive Steve Park, our joint efforts have finally paid off. We’d like to everyone for their determination and partnership approach to getting this property brought back into use and we look forward to working with the new owners in due course.”

I really don’t think the councillors can take any credit. It’s a private residence. A private property. What actual influence have they actually had? I think the PC are getting a little carried away here.
Working with the new owners? It’s a private property. Do other councillors have a say in everyone’s private property? Do other people have a say in Marks house? He lives in a HMO now doesn’t he? Has it gone through planning?
Why don’t Mark and Helen buy it if they want a say?
