MP visits Friends of Birchwood Forest Park

Charlotte Nichols MP recently paid a visit to Friends of Birchwood Forest Park to catch up with their dedicated team of volunteers, and to show her support for the work they do.

During her visit Charlotte caught up with volunteers over a brew and some home-made cake to discuss their plans for Santa’s Grotto, which will be running later in the year and learn more about their ongoing initiatives to maintain the park and support local causes.
Birchwood Forest Park is a treasured green space for the community of Warrington, and the Friends of Birchwood Forest Park have been at the heart of its up-keep for many years. A key part of their work is their volunteer-led Café which not only provides a welcoming space for visitors and local residents, but also helps to support the up-keep of the park and initiatives ran by the local community.

Charlotte Nichols MP  said “Thank you to the Friends of Birchwood Forest Park for their service to our community throughout the year, including through their volunteer led café, the proceeds of which support the up-keep of the park and community initiatives in the local area. It was lovely to meet some of the volunteers this week and have a natter over a brew and cake about the work they do, and what I can do to support them in my role!”
“After a summer with another successful Proms in the Park and Birchwood Carnival, they’re getting ready for Christmas (which is less than 100 days away!) and the free Santa’s Grotto event which will be a great way to get all the family in the festive spirit. Keep an eye on their Facebook page for all the detail’s you’ll need, and if you’re passing by the park in the meantime, why not pop in for the tea and cake for a great cause?”
