Over 200 people lit up Warrington recently, as St. Rocco’s Hospice hosted its first 80s-themed Neon Night Walk in celebration of the hospice’s 40th Anniversary, raising £15,000 to support patient care.
Starting at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, participants donned their best 80s outfits and glowing accessories before setting off on a 5k route through the town with some walkers challenging themselves to 10k. The evening wasn’t just about the walk – it was a celebration, complete with live performances from Danni’s Got Soul and The Rock Choir, which kept spirits high throughout the night.
Marie Egerton, Director of Commercial Development at St. Rocco’s Hospice, said: “For four decades, St. Rocco’s Hospice has been a beacon of hope, comfort, and dignity for thousands of individuals and families. As a local charity, we rely on the generosity of the Warrington community for most of our funding, so we are deeply grateful to everyone who supported this event. Every pound raised will go directly towards caring for patients and their loved ones.”
“This event would not be possible without the help and support of the St. Rocco’s community.”
“We would like to say thank you to all who helped make the event a success including the Halliwell Jones Stadium for hosting us, the team of 40 volunteers; photographer Brian Touhey Photography and Moore Camera Club; Adrian Cunliffe (MC) and the team of first aiders from ARC Training; McDonalds for the bottled water and the Rock Choir & Danni’s Got Soul for their performances.”
“And of course, the biggest thank you goes to everyone who took part and helped raise an amazing £15,000 for patient care at St. Rocco’s Hospice.”
