Firefighters called out to tackle car blaze

FIREFIGHTERS were called out during the early hours of today (Wednesday) following reports of a car on fire on Hoyle Street, Warrington.

At 00:10, one crew from Warrington attended the scene. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled a fire involving a car that was well alight.
Crews used a thermal imaging camera to ensure the vehicle was safe before handing it over to the owner.
There was no report of any injuries.
In another incident at 18:13 yesterday, Tuesday, one crew from Birchwood was called out to reports of a fire in a field off Manchester Road, Woolston.
Firefighters used a hose reel jet to extinguish a fire involving hay bales in a field, which affected an area around 10 by 5 metres.
No cause was given.
