A 13-year-old boy has been arrested for possession of a bladed article following reports of a youth with a knife near Warrington Youth Zone on Saturday evening.
The youngster was eventually arrested near the bus station after being stopped and searched by a Cheshire Specials officer.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson confirmed: “At around 9.21pm on Saturday 13 September, officers in Warrington Town Centre responded to reports of an incident near to the Warrington Youth Zone.
“Officers attended the scene and conducted a search of the nearby area.
“Following enquiries, officers located a 13-year-old boy in the nearby bus station, who was arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article in a public place.
Cheshire Specials reported: “On Saturday night, following reports of a youth with a knife in the town centre, SC Selby conducted a search on a male outside Warrington Bus Station. The search came back positive as SC Selby found that the male was carrying a knife. The male was duly arrested for possession of a bladed article.
