THE Museum of Policing in Cheshire welcomed hundreds of visitors, including the Mayor of Warrington, Cllr. Mo Hussain, for a free family open day at its Arpley Street base in Warrington.
The event yesterday, Saturday, offered something for everyone, with museum tours, interactive displays, and the chance to explore a wide range of policing exhibits and artefacts that showcase the county’s long and proud policing history.
Highlights of the day included demonstrations from the firearms unit, police dogs, and the police drone team, alongside opportunities for families to see inside police vehicles and meet members of the force. Visitors also enjoyed live performances from the Cheshire Police Band, creating a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere throughout the day.
As well as being an exciting family outing, the open day gave the public a unique insight into the vital work of Cheshire Police ,from engaging with new recruits to celebrating the service of retired officers.
Mayor of Warrington, Cllr Mo Hussain, who attended the event, said: “It was wonderful to see so many families and individuals from across Warrington and beyond enjoying this fantastic open day. The Museum of Policing is a real asset to our town, preserving important history, inspiring future generations, and showcasing the incredible work of our police. A huge thank you to the volunteers and officers who made today such a memorable experience.”
