A road closure of up to three weeks will come into force at Thelwall next month (October) to allow gas main replacement works.
The works on Thelwall New Road are set to start on October 6th as and when signed on site.
Warrington Borough Council intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving on Thelwall New Road from its junction with Prestbury Drive to its junction with Stanton Road.
The Order will be effective from 6th October 2025 for 3 weeks, as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative route will be via Higher Knutsford Road, Knutsford Road, Stockport Road and vice versa. The closure is required to allow Cadent to carry out gas main replacement work.
