THREE batsmen hit fifties for Warrington as they totalled 243 at Barrow – but it wasn’t enough to earn victory.

The village side replied with 244-7 despite Warrington using seven bowlers.
Warrington lost a wicket before a run was on the board but after that things looked better as Liam Jenkins hit 57, Harley Barratt 50 and Brandon Andrews 53 to help the side reach an all-out total of 243.
It would probably have been enough but for Barrow’s Faizan Abid who hit a blistering 135, including 16 fours and eight sixes to give the village side victory by three wickets.

Grappenhall were tumbled out for 75 at Marple on their way to another humiliating defeat.
Losing the toss and asked to bat first, they lost half the team for just 14 runs and were at one stage were 25-7. Only three batsmen reached double figures and top scorer was Zak Judge with 18.
The eventual total of 75 was never a realistic target and Marple reached it for the loss of just one wicket.

Lymm Oughtrington Park went down by seven wickets at Old Parkonians after being dismissed for 126, top score A McVey, 45.
The home side replied with 128-3.
Appleton lost by four runs in a closely fought game at Wirral.
Winning the toss and asking the home side to bat first, they restricted them to 194-9 – a gettable target.
Appleton got off to a poor start, losing three cheap wickets. But while Ian Richards, 42 and Liam Mannion, 54 were at the wicket they were looking good for victory. Wickets fell, however and when the last man was out they were just four runs short.

Glazebury won by one wicket in a nail-biting finish at Styal.
Winning the toss and asking the home side to bat first, they bowled them out for 122, Anil Gadhiraju taking 5-23.
When Glazebury batted they did not exactly distinguish themselves as only one batsman reached double figures. Fortunately that one man was Anthony Meulman, who hit a superb, unbeaten 78 which took the side to 123-9 and victory.
