VISITORS Hednesford Town fought back from two early Warrington Rylands goals to go home with a 2-2 draw at The Quickline Logistics Arena.

Warrington, keen to make amends for their FA Cup exit at the hands of Guiseley, were out of the blocks like a Whippet.

There were still injuries in the squad, and top goal scorer Jake Burton himself had his knee strapped tightly, but that didn’t prevent him from putting The Blues ahead after just three minutes from a wonderful Dean Furman through ball.
George Waring, usually Ryland’s front man, was playing at centre half, leaving Tunde Owolabi, Alex Kiwomya and Jake Burton up front. Tunde ran onto another ball through the Pitmen’s defence, but two amazing saves from Tony Breeden gave his colleagues time to get back into position and save the third attempt at goal.
Twenty minutes later, Burton produced a wonderful cross and Guy Hall tapped it into the net for the second.

Unfortunately, Burton’s knee was the cause for him to be replaced just before half time, and Jake Jervis brought the away side back into the game with a goal two minutes before the break.
Owolabi had chances to put Rylands further ahead in the second half, but once again, Breeden was difficult to beat.
Adam Caddick made a terrific run and crossed the ball in front of the goal, where Ryan Tioffo was inches away from putting the match to bed.
Hednesford continued to push for the equaliser. With six minutes left, the linesman gave Warrington a throw-in, but the referee overruled him and gave it the other way. From this throw, The Pitmen headed toward Pilling, where Nathan Blissett jumped high enough to produce the equaliser.
Hednesford Town went away feeling they had successfully achieved a point from this match, whereas Warrington Rylands lost two points.
The next match will be at Lancaster City’s Giant Axe on Tuesday, 9th September.
