UPDATED: WOOLSTON Neighbourhood Hub could remain closed for a number of weeks as a precautionary measure following legionella testing.
Woolston Neighbourhood Hub closed yesterday, Thursday 4 September, following legionella testing of the water supply. The Hub will remain closed while further work is undertaken.
Warrington Borough Council is now working with specialist contractors who are investigating the Hub’s water system and providing guidance on control measures that can be put into place.
To reopen safely, the Hub’s water network needs to undergo a full disinfection regime. The water will then have to be tested again to confirm that the bacteria has been eliminated. This means it may take a number of weeks before the council is able to make a decision on reopening the Hub.
A council spokesperson said: “We are very sorry for the inconvenience this is causing to our members, visitors and other residents who access local services from the Hub. Our priority is your safety, and while we have closed the Hub as a precaution, please contact your GP if you have any health concerns or are displaying any symptoms.”
