Warrington-based amateur theatre company Centenary is set to return to The Brindley Theatre this September with their latest production, Vardy V Rooney The Wagatha Christie Trial.
This play is a verbatim verbatim stage adaptation of the sensational 2022 High Court defamation trial between Rebekah Vardy and Coleen Rooney famously dubbed the “Wagatha Christie” trial. It stages the action using real courtroom transcripts, alongside a tongue-in-cheek football-themed presentation. It is its moments of Comedy, emotional and distressing timing, full of drama, laughs and tears. This is not one to miss!
Centenary Theatre Company, renowned for delivering top-quality productions since 1901, brings this colourful and much-loved story to life with vibrant singing, dynamic acting, and spectacular choreography. Their recent production of Disney’s The Shrek the Musical was a resounding success, earning a five-star review from North West End and glowing praise from NODA (National Operatic and Dramatic Association).
Vardy V Rooney The Wagatha Christie Trial runs at The Brindley Theatre, Runcorn, from Thursday 18th to Saturday 20th September 2025, with evening performances at 7:30 pm and a Saturday Matinee at 2:30pm..
