A quacking time was had by all at the Latchford Rubber Duck Race on Sunday afternoon.
Mayor of Warrington Cllr Mo Hussain took time off from the town’s Mela he helped organise, to be on hand to launch the event.
He said: “It was lovely catching up with my dear friends Jean and Martin Pilling, a wonderful couple who have been married an incredible 65 years 👏💍.
“We set the ducks off from the top of the bridge and cheered them on as they took their sweet time to reach the finish line. Clearly, no rush – plenty of twists, turns, and sightseeing along the way!
“Eventually, the winning duck waddled its way across the line and was carefully scooped up with a net by none other than Charlotte Nichols MP, proving that sometimes it really does take an MP to catch your duck! 🏆🦆
“A fantastic community event full of fun, laughter, and great company.”
