A 24-hour clearway is set to start on Cromwell Avenue, Warrington, from next Monday, September 1st, to facilitate ongoing works transforming the Peace Centre into a new SEND facility.
The restrictions are required due to works associated with the Peace Centre redevelopment and to safeguard children on their journeys to and from the local school whilst the works are being carried out.
Warrington Borough Council has made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and in accordance with Section 43 of The Road Traffic Act 1991 and Part 6 of the Traffic Management Act 2004 and of all other enabling powers. The effect of which will be to introduce a 24-Hour Clearway where no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to stop or remain at rest “at any time” on Cromwell Avenue in both directions between Sankey Way and the Canons Road/Waterways Roundabout.
The Order will be effective from 1st September 2025. The restrictions are for a period of up to 12 months; however, they will be in place as and when the signs are in place on site. The restrictions are required due to works associated with the Peace Centre Redevelopment and to safeguard children on their journeys to and from the local school whilst the works are being carried out.
