VIDEO: FORMER Poacher guitarist Sarge Pete Frampton is set to have one of his old songs “Buttermarket” re-released in Nashville, Tennessee, by American duo Lost Hollow, with plans to have it aired live in Warrington later this year!

While Sarge lived on Buttermarket Street and his manager Dave Warwick had offices on the same street, he says the song isn’t about the road, but is about a homecoming.

Originally from Guernsey, Sarge has he likes to be known, not to be confused with another Peter Frampton, carved out his musical career in Warrington, with well-known folk band Poacher, while also more recently guesting with The Bog Trotters as well as his other band, The Escape Committee. He was also well-known locally as a guitar tutor.

Now, a twist of fate has seen “Buttermarket” set to be re-released with a country-style makeover, thanks to his former manager’s daughter Rachel, who recorded a version of the song especially for his dad.
The song was heard by Lost Hollow, who have now recorded their own version to promote their forthcoming new album, with plans to showcase in live in Warrington, later this year.
While many who hear the song will think it is about Buttermarket Street, Sarge says it had more to do with him just liking the name.
