The HOPE 100 walk for suicide prevention returns on Saturday, 6th September, in the lead up to World Suicide Prevention Day (10th September).
This annual event has become a flagship for the partnership work that takes place across Warrington to support mental health and suicide prevention. Starting at Victoria Park at 11 am, you can choose to take part in either the 10km or 5km route. Both walks are accessible and suitable for all ages and abilities.
The aim of the Hope 100 walk is to start conversations that can change the narrative about how we perceive the complex issue of suicide. 1 in 100 deaths worldwide are as a result of suicide and we want to create a community focus for those who are passionate about mental health and suicide prevention.
The HOPE 100 walk helps to create hope through action by encouraging understanding and awareness. Many participate because they have a lived experience or have been impacted due to the death by suicide of a family member, friend or colleague. The walk is an opportunity to remember, reflect and build resilience in the town as we strive towards zero deaths by suicide.
Come and join others taking part on September 6th to help raise awareness and tackle the stigma of mental health and to learn about the organisations available to support those who are struggling.
