A superb double from Jake Burton, a goal from George Waring and a thunderbolt from Dean Furman were enough for Warrington Rylands to take all three points with a 4-2 win against Gainsborough Trinity

After their 1-0 victory against Bamber Bridge on Tuesday Warrington began on the front foot. Trinity had no response for quick-footed Jake Burton, who left his marker flat-footed to open the scoring with just 9 minutes on the clock. Two minutes later big George Waring tapped the ball past David Robson for the second.
Trinity believed they had found a way back into the game when confusion in the Rylands defence allowed Jonathon Margetts to put the ball past Pilling but deft footwork and ability by Burton sent a defender the wrong way once more, leaving the path open for his second just before half-time.
Going in with three goals on the board seemed impressive against a side that beat Ilkeston Town last Tuesday, but to be honest, the score could have been double that if chances had been taken.

George Waring scores

The travelling side came out fighting after the break, but could not break down a resolute Warrington side. Burton, untouchable once again, left the defence in a spin but this time his shot powered back off the crossbar.
Things took a change 11 minutes into the second half when an off-the-ball incident saw Waring retaliate after being elbowed, and following consultation with the linesman, the referee showed him a red card.
Even when down to ten players, Rylands were too strong for Gainsborough. Fans favourite Dean Furman went on a run from midfield, and when a gap opened up in front of him, with the defence believing he would pass the ball, he produced a shot that keeper Robson could only watch as it powered past him, nearly tearing a hole in the rear netting.
Harrison Clark Beeden pulled back a consolation goal in injury time but by then the game was over.
The next match for Warrington Rylands will be a long evening trip to Workington on Tuesday evening.
