Warrington & Vale Royal College is celebrating another year of academic success, as technical and T Level students received their outstanding results alongside their families and friends at a heartwarming celebration morning held at the Warrington campus.

This year marks yet another milestone in a long line of impressive results days for Warrington’s leading provider of technical education and skills training. This year’s results have shown an outstanding 98% pass rate for final year level 3 students, highlighting the college’s strong track record in supporting students to achieve their ambitions. These qualifications are equivalent to 3 A Levels, with such strong results reflecting both the high quality of teaching and the dedication of the students.
The remarkable results attained meant the energy was high at the Vocational Results Day Celebration Morning, where students and their nearest and dearest joined together with tutors to mark the occasion and say their farewells before starting their next bright chapter. One such student celebrating their impressive achievements includes Layla Parks-Smith, a former pupil of Weaverham High School, who has received a Triple Distinction* in Level 3 Applied Science. This grade, which is equivalent to 3 A* A Levels, has allowed Layla to progress to the University of Liverpool where she looks forward to studying BSc Bioveterinary Science.
Having achieved an amazing Distinction* grade, Level 3 Business student Markuss Uzkurelis will be heading to the prestigious University of York for his next step, saying: “College has been an amazing journey. My confidence has grown massively throughout my time here, with the help of my tutors who always went the extra mile. The hard work I have put into my course has opened the door to a Russell Group university, and I can’t wait to get started with my degree.”

Nathan Jake McGarr-Whitney is progressing to the University of Chester after achieving an impressive Triple Distinction* in Level 3 Graphic Design & Illustration. He said: “I’m so happy with my results! I have always wanted a career in graphic design and I couldn’t have asked for a better college or more supportive tutors to help me achieve my goal. The course, with all of the opportunities to work on live briefs, has set me up perfectly.”
The college is also celebrating the achievements of its T Level students, whose qualifications combine academic learning with extended industry placements, ensuring they leave the college as skilled, standout candidates. This year, Warrington & Vale Royal College achieved a 100% pass rate for students on these challenging pathways.
Proud T Level student Emily Dowell is now heading to the University of Central Lancashire to study BSc Children’s Nursing, saying: “I am so glad I chose a T Level at Warrington & Vale Royal College. The facilities are second to none in the Health & Social Care Academy and the opportunities I’ve had have been incredible, like my industry placement at the Child Development Centre. My time here has made me more determined than ever to achieve my goal of becoming a paediatric nurse.”

Hundreds of the college’s hardworking students received their final grades this morning, with many securing places at prestigious universities across the country, others stepping into apprenticeships, and many taking their skills and experience straight into employment in their chosen sector.
The college’s Principal & CEO, Nichola Newton, praised this year’s cohort: “On behalf of myself, our teachers and the entire college community, I want to express how very proud we are of each and every one of our students as they receive their results today. Their achievements demonstrate that hard work and commitment, coupled with the excellent teaching and support they have received at the college, really does pay off. Our students, including this year’s cohort, go onwards to a variety of destinations, from leading universities to high-profile employers, evidencing our promise of ‘careers not courses’. We congratulate them and cannot wait to see what they go on to achieve.”
Every year, thousands of students choose Warrington & Vale Royal College to help them achieve their ambitions. For school leavers still considering their options, it’s not too late to join the college in September, but places are limited. Enrolment begins next Thursday (GCSE Results Day), with non-applicants welcome from Monday 25th August to secure any remaining places.
