AN off-road biker was arrested for being under the influence of drugs as police tackled ongoing issues at Sankey Valley Park, Warrington, last night.
Officers from the Warrington West beat team were on patrol in the Sankey Valley Park area due to ongoing concerns raised by residents regarding the illegal use of motorbikes in the park and surrounding areas.
It didn’t take long to come across a group of riders who were stopped by the officers. The groups were searched under the Misuse of Drugs Act, with one being found to be driving while under the influence of cannabis. He was arrested and conveyed to custody.
A police spokesperson said: “We will continue to target those who continue to ride illegally within our communities and take positive action against riders who are found to be flouting the law.
“Please continue to report these incidents to us via 101 and don’t forget if you know where the bikes are being stored or who’s riding them, let us know in complete confidence via either 101 or online at: Home | Cheshire Constabulary.
“You can also provide us information via our anonymous Residents Voice survey by following this link: Resident’s voice | Cheshire Constabulary
“Please keep the information coming and we’ll get these bikes on the way to the crusher.”
