POLICE are investigating a serious fire which broke out on a footpath between Grappenhall and Thelwall, Warrington affecting a hedgerow and trees.
Fire engines from Lymm and Poynton were called to the scene last night night and a wildfire team was also called out due to the difficult location and the risk of the blaze spreading to a wider area.
Firefighters believed the blaze could have been started deliberately.
About 25 metres of land was affected before the crews got the blaze under control.
It was the early hours of today (Monday) before the incident was closed.
