ALL lanes of the M62 Eastbound at Warrington have now re-opened following a serious road traffic collision shortly after 5 pm involving three vehicles, including two which left the carriageway.
Emergency crews, including three fire crews from Penketh, Warrington and Stockton Heath and the North West Ambulance Service’s Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) attended at the scene following reports of casualties trapped.
Two vehicles had left the motorway and were stuck down an embankment between Junction eight, Burtonwood and Junction nine at Wiwnick. The two casualties were believed to have been medically trapped, but not physically. Firefighters provided casualty care, and one person was able to get out of their vehicle. The other casualty required help from firefighters and paramedics, as well as the North West Ambulance Service’s Hazardous Area Response Team (HART).
