PLANS for a new, two-storey house on Green Belt land in Cross Lane, Croft, have been thrown out by Warrington planning chiefs.
The scheme would have involved the demolition of an existing house- and planning officers said that the new property would be materially larger than the old, making it inappropriate in the Green Belt.
In addition, the proposed access to the site would be detrimental to road safety due to inadequate visibility splays.
An objection was received from the borough council’s transport development control.
The proposed new dwelling would have had five bedrooms, compared with three in the existing property and would also have two front gables with a side wing set back and down from the main dwelling.
