FIREFIGHTERS were called out to reports of a car on fire on the M6 southbound near Lymm.
At 18:09 on Thursday evening one crew from Stockton Heath attended the vehicle fire on the southbound carriageway of the M6 motorway between junction 20 and junction 19.
On arrival, they found a car which had exposed and overheating wheel bearings. One hose reel jet was used to cool the bearings down.
In another incident at 19:17 one crew from Lymm attended reports of a hedge on fire Walnut Tree Lane, Appleton.
Firefighters used beaters and a water backpack to put out a small fire involving a hedgerow in Warrington.
