A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault and an assault on an emergency worker following an incident in Warrington town centre on Saturday night.
At 11.16pm on Saturday 26 July, officers on patrol in Warrington town centre were notified of an assault in Sankey Street in which a man had suffered a head injury.
A 22-year-old man was arrested nearby on suspicion of section 18 assault.
Following a search, he was further arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis and cocaine, and assaulting an emergency worker.
He has since been released on bail.
