SIX firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled a blaze involving a conservatory at a residential property in Westbook, Warrington, earlier today, Tuesday.

At 09:05 three fire engines from Warrington, Penketh, Widnes and the aerial ladder platform from Chester were called to a fire involving a conservatory to the rear of a property on Westbrook Crescent. All occupants were quickly accounted for and moved to safety.
Six firefighters wearing breathing apparatus initially tackled the fire with two hose reel jets and a high-pressure fan.
Firefighters entered the loft space from inside the property and brought in the aerial ladder platform to dampen down signs of fire spread to the roof from the outside – they also had to remove some of the roof tiles.
Paramedics were also in attendance, but no one is believed to have received any treatment.
Police established a cordon while emergency services dealt with the incident.
UPDATE 13:00 – Firefighters have completed thermal imaging checks of the property. A fire investigation has concluded the cause to be accidental. Firefighters are putting sheets over the roof to protect the area until repairs can be carried out.
