Things are hotting up in the studio this month at Ameritz Music

It’s been a warm summer, I like it warm but not THIS warm. It is hotting up in the Ameritz Music studio this month, our new projects included some amazing local talent.

First up is Vicky Williams with her new group ‘The Lower Angel Band’. Vicky is a very prolific songwriter. We are working on the groups debut album. The album will be out in the coming months on vinyl. Yes, you read that right, vinyl. It is coming back.

I do miss the days of vinyl records. The sleeves, the actual effort we had to put in to listen to the music. Music is now more disposal, and easy to access. That is great in one way, as we hear so much more music. However, the personal investment isn’t there anymore and I feel we don’t engage with the music as we used to.
As a result records have to ‘grab’ you immediately. This means less experimentation.
I would happily sit through the first 10 minutes of ‘Close to the Edge’ by ‘Yes’ before the vocals came in. Now, that just would not cut it in the ‘TikTok’ world.

On the live front we have 2 of our artists playing at the Newton Music Festival on August 2nd. In the day, it is free entry with the debut performance of ‘The Lower Angel Band’ happening at 2pm.
In the evening another one of our artists ‘GONDOLAS’ are on at 6:30pm.
The lads, provide a Strokes-esque power rock show. Make a day of it! It’s not to be missed.

The ‘Ameritz Radar’ podcast is now weekly. You will find it on Spotify, Apple podcasts, etc. The next few weeks we have some amazing guests lined up.
Next up is Lee Heywood. Lee is a personal trainer and mindfulness coach. Lee will explain how his mindfulness practice can help musicians and business owners develop and improve their skills.

Back to the business for me.
Until next month enjoy the sun!
