A 34-year-old man who raped his former partner at her Warrington home and poured boiling water from a kettle over her head and arm has been jailed.

Kyle Hazeley, from Turf Hill Lane, Rochdale appeared at Liverpool Crown Court on 14 July to be sentenced after admitting rape, section 18 wounding with intent and assault.
He was sentenced to seven years and six months in prison. He must also sign the sex offender register for life and abide by an indefinite restraining order in relation to the victim.
The victim was with Hazeley in 2024 when he assaulted and raped her at her home address in Warrington.
The assault and wounding with intent took place at the address when he cruelly poured boiling water from a kettle onto her head and her arm causing intense pain and blistered her skin.
He also dragged her by her hair, banged her head on the kitchen worktop and kicked her when she was on the floor.
DC Keri Speirs said: “Hazeley viciously and violently assaulted and raped the victim – the trauma of which she is suffering the consequences to this day.
“I hope that knowing Hazeley is behind bars will help her on her journey to recovery from her horrific ordeal.”
