INDEPENDENT Cllr. Neil Johnson has teamed up with local residents and Bents Garden and Home at Glazebury to explore the possibility of a Residents Permit Parking Scheme along parts of Warrington Road.

Cllr. Johnson has held “very positive” discussions with Bents after being approached by manager Matthew Bent and local residents in the area.
He said:”Bents experience a significant increase in visitors throughout November and December, during their peak trading period. This can place additional pressure on local residents and can be a huge inconvenience for people who live nearby.
“Local residents have suggested the introduction of a Residents Only Parking Permit scheme. As a first step, we have canvassed every household in the area to ensure that there is unanimous support for this.
“We are now in touch with Warrington Borough Council to try and progress this and review next steps. As your Independent voice in Glazebury, I am committed to making sure that parking problems are tackled and that we work in collaboration with local businesses to get the best for everyone.”
Cllr. Johnson visited every house in the vicinity of Bents recently alongside local supporter Rachel Pitt. They received wholehearted support for the idea of a residents permit scheme and are now determined to take the idea forward!
