MOORE Rugby Club has benefited from a grant from the Allianz Future Fund to help support the growing Juniors and Ladies section of The Club, which was originally founded in 1968.

The £1000 funding will allow Juniors coaches to focus on skills development and teamwork through new equipment, training kit and will enable them to run camps to help grow the squad.

Allianz Spokesperson said: “It is clear your efforts ae having a meaningful impact on grassroots rugby and we’re excited to support your club’s ongoing efforts.”
The Club is also keen to work with local schools and organisations such as Scouts, to promote rugby and the benefits of getting involved. The development of these key relationships will bring the benefit for the next generation of players at Moore RUFC.
This season showed some promising performances. Six players were accepted onto the England Rugby Player Development Pathway and two players were invited to join the Cheshire U18’s squad. Also the Juniors section has started to feed into the adults section with players coming through the junior pathway into the Ladies Team.
Juniors lead Ian Carroll added:“ The coaches have been diligently nurturing players abilities but also teaching the core values of Rugby which are Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline, Sportsmanship (TREDS)”
Ian who played rugby at Moore RUFC, is keen to engage with the local community and bring families to the Club. Ian’s two daughters Daisy and Ellie also play for Moore Ladies.
