LATCHFORD Albion Giants’ unbeaten start to the season continued with a hard fought 48-18 victory over Oldham St Annes A.
Coach Sean Bond was delighted with the win over a strong Oldham side.
He said:“ This was another great performance against a very strong opposition.
“We had a couple of players on debut, as well as a different half back combination, which meant we had to take our time to unlock the Oldham defence.
“The first 30 minutes was a clear arm wrestle however I was pleased with our shape and felt at half time we had sufficient control of the game leading 20-6.
“At half time I asked the lads to focus on our execution in the final third of the pitch, and about having a little more patience. This, in addition to the injection of speed around the ruck from Theo Gabbott really opened the game up for us and allowed us come away with an excellent victory. “
Latchford try scorers were Josh Barnard (2), River Cole, Marshall Hayes, Jack Done, Nathan Bond, Ryan Edwards, Louis Norton, Riley Cole with goals added by Will Maguire (3) Dave Manfredi (3)
This Saturday sees an exciting clash when Albion travel to face Ashton Bears A – who are also unbeaten this season.
