Man’s body sadly found after car abandoned on Thelwall Viaduct

POLICE have today confirmed that a man’s body was sadly found following reports of a vehicle being abandoned on the M6 Thelwall Viaduct, Warrington, on Monday morning.

Emergency services were called to reports that a car had been found abandoned on Thelwell Viaduct, Warrington, at 9.20 am on Monday 5 May.
It was subsequently established that the driver of the vehicle was missing.
Local officers, supported by the police helicopter, conducted a search of the area and sadly the body of a man was located on the embankment of the river.
The body is believed to be that of a 33-year-old man from Manchester, his next of kin have been made aware.
The death is not being treated as suspicion and a case file will be prepared for the coroner.
