LOCAL schoolboy Harvey Goodman stepped out on the final leg of his triathlon challenge today (Sunday), raising funds for the Peace & Mind UK charity set up in memory of murdered Warrington teenager Brianna Ghey.
Harvey from Stockton Heath has already raised £50,000 for various causes since he was six and has already raised over £9,000 on his latest challenge.
This weekend as part of Harvey’s Challenge, he has already swum 1.2 miles at Orford Jubilee Hub, cycled 56 miles from his primary school, with the final leg, a 16-mile walk to Old Trafford.
Harvey became interested in mindfulness after seeing Brianna’s mother Esther Ghey talk about it at an awards night.
He also took mindfulness sessions at school after his cousin Zak died of cancer last November, and now wants all children to be able to access mindfulness sessions.
His walk today will be through picturesque landscapes, moving from the heart of Stockton Heath towards the bustling, historic destination of Old Trafford, ending at the iconic Hotel Football, located near the stadium, where participants will gather for well-deserved food, drinks, and festivities.
This post-event celebration is a chance to share stories, laughter, and the sense of community that defines Harvey’s Triathlon Challenge.
Peace & Mind UK was founded in memory of Brianna Ghey, by her mother Esther. In the last years of her life, Brianna suffered with her mental health which was exacerbated by harmful online content.
Peace & Mind UK aims to help young people and their families to improve mental health through group well-being activities and online safety education.
