A woman hater rapist from Warrington who targeted a drunken woman and raped her in a hotel room has been jailed.

Jailing him for seven-and-a-half years a judge ruled that Jordan Campbell, a convicted sex offender, is dangerous and imposed a five year extended licence.

His victim, who is in her 30s, was left traumatised by her ordeal and “is haunted by constant thoughts of what you did to her,” said the Recorder David Knifton, KC.
“She attempted suicide two weeks after the incident and describes herself as a shell of the person she was,” he said.

He added that her trauma was exacerbated “because she is unable to recall all the details and will probably never know exactly what took place in that hotel room.”
Liverpool Crown Court heard today (Mon) how on August 18 this year the victim travelled from Bradford to Liverpool for a short break having pre-booked a room at the Premier Inn on Bolton Street.
She had some drinks on the train and at Lime Street station’s Weatherspoons where she chatted to someone and at some point after leaving she met 48-year-old Callaghan, who is also known as Jordan Scott-Michael.
He had been sitting in McDonalds and saw she was very drunk and assisted her to her hotel wheeling her suitcase. “But your actions thereafter were nothing of a Good Samaritan,” said the judge.
They were captured on CCTV in the hotel reception at 5.30 pm and staff refused to serve them alcohol and he took her up to her room. “She has limited recollection of what took place over the next 24 minutes when you were present.”

She refused his offer of cocaine and recalled refusing to perform oral sex on him. Her next recollection was waking up at 10.30 and found she was naked from the waist downwards and felt physically uncomfortable.
Her dad recalled her ringing him saying ‘help me, Dad.’ “He recalls she sounded emotional and was crying. When he asked her what had happened, she said that she was in bed and could not move and that there was blood on the sheets. She was confused so he called the police,” said Louise McCloskey, prosecuting.
Callaghan was later arrested and said that the sexual activity had been instigated by her and was consensual. He failed to give the PIN number for his phone, from which items, had been deleted, which was in breach of his Sexual Harm Prevention Order. (SHPO)

The court heard that he had 24 previous convictions for 90 offences including indecent and sexual assaults, indecent images of children and breaching his SHPO.
The defendant, of Parker Street, Warrington, pleaded guilty to rape, sexual assault and two counts of breaching his SHPO.
The judge imposed an indefinite restraining order and a life long Sexual Harm Prevention Order. The defendant will have to serve two-thirds of his jail term before he can apply for parole.

Recorder Knifton said that the defendant has a diagnosis of unstable personality disorder and suggested PTSD and a psychotic illness. He has previously been sectioned under the Mental Health Act.
Earlier this year he disengaged with mental health services and stopped taking his prescribed medication. “You claimed to the author of the pre-sentence report that you would not have committed offences if taking the medication.
“But you also stated your previous sexual offending was motived by the desire to take risks and suggests you had the desire to get back at women due to childhood sexual abuse you suffered by a female teacher at the residential school you attended,” said Recorder Knifton.
“The author concludes there is an entrenched pattern of sexual offending against women and says the risk of causing further serious harm is very high.
“You took advantage of a situation to fulfil your sexual desires and there is an element of targeting a vulnerable woman and you may have been under the influence of drugs.
Tom Watson, defending, said that Callaghan’s guilty plea was indicative of his remorse.
