Gritters out again as wintry showers and ice forecast and possibility of snow

THE gritters will be out again this evening with wintry showers and ice forecast for Warrington – and even the chance of light snow overnight.

Secondary routes will be gritted in some areas once the primary routes are done. It’s likely that the primary routes will be gritted again into the night with some light snow expected overnight and early morning.

The weather forecast for Warrington is a cold week ahead with wintry showers and some ice.

This Evening and Tonight:
Largely dry and clear this evening but cloud thickening overnight bringing an increasing chance of wintry showers. These becoming heavier by the morning, perhaps giving a covering of snow in places and locally icy conditions. A widespread frost. Minimum temperature -4 °C.

Tuesday:
An icy start for some with perhaps some travel disruption. Further wintry showers through the day, with more persistent snow at times, perhaps mostly of rain on coasts. Feeling cold. Maximum temperature 4 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:
Wintry showers on Tuesday evening, clearing overnight with icy surfaces following. Largely dry and often sunny to end the week, with wintry showers on Thursday. Cold with frost and ice.
