Fire crews called out to reports of smoke from commercial property and static caravan fire

FIRE crews from Warrington and Birchwood were called out to two incidents in the town today, involving smoke at a commercial premises in Lymm and a static caravan fire at Winwick.

At 14:49 two fire engines from Warrington and Birchwood were called out to commercial premises on Church Road, Lymm.

Crews attended the scene to find a slight amount of smoke coming from a boiler. Firefighters used a thermal imaging camera to identify the hotspots. They then isolated the gas and electrics before using a hose reel jet to cool the area.

Earlier, at 10:44 two crews from Warrington and Birchwood were called to Delph Lane, Winwick.
Crews were called to a static caravan where smoke was coming from an electrical wall socket near a wood-burning stove. On arrival, firefighters put out the stove and isolated the electricity before cutting into the cavity wall to remove burnt boarding.
They used a thermal imaging camera to guide them to hot spots which they dampened to stop the spread.
