Housing planned for farmland at Glazebury

1

PLANS have been submitted for a development of five houses on farmland in Warrington Road, Glazebury.

The scheme, submitted by Oaktree Construction, involve a 0.14 hectare piece of land near to Chat Moss Bridge.
Five houses are proposed – two pairs of semi-detached and one detached house
The site is in an area that could be affected by underground coal mining but, as it has not been worked since 1989, it is considered that any ground movement arising from minding should now have stopped
The applicants say the site is in an area identified for housing growth and is a sustainable location.
Although one house would be within 30 meters of the railway, diesel trains do not use the line.
The proposals are being studied by Warrington Borough Council planners.

  1. Surely, if planners are supposed to be building around 200 houses on the land oppisit the Infant/Junior School on Warrington Rd then the land proposed for house building by the Chat Moss Railway line should be used for “Car Parking” for the Railway Station which is badly needed in Glazebury.
Just think of how much traffic would be reduced if you could travel by train rather that cars.
