Road closed as firefighters help rescue trapped person following collision

A road was closed at Winwick yesterday evening as firefighters helped rescue a trapped person following a road traffic collision.

The incident took place on Alder Root Lane, Winwick shortly after 5:30pm.

Crews from Warrington and Birchwood attended at the road traffic collision involving one vehicle with one person trapped.
The road was closed by police and crews set up a plan, which involved using cutting equipment and a casualty longboard, to get the person out of the vehicle and to the care of paramedics.
