THE annual fun day at Longford’s Roy Humphreys Centre proved a huge success – and highlighted the great community spirit in the area.
It was the first time it had been held for two years, because of the pandemic and local residents turned up in force to celebrate and show how much the event had been missed.
Warrington North MP Charlotte Nichols was there to offer support and Steven Broomhead, chief executive of the borough council and deputy chairman of Warrington Wolves, supplied a signed rugby ball.
A tombola was organised by Jean Chester and a raffle was run by Jean Humphreys with the signed rugby ball and a Warrington Wolves shirt as prizes.
A children’s bouncy castle, face painting, balloon modelling and story-telling kept the youngsters happy and there was plenty of affordable food on offer.

Such a fabulous funday at the centre , lovely to see everyone happy and having fun . It would not be possible with out the tireless work of Volunteers
Thank you to @charlotte2153 and Beth and Ian for coming along to support the event , appreciated 😊 pic.twitter.com/M2I6ZA8qQD— TheRHcharity 💙 (@HcharityR) August 14, 2021
