MORE than 22,000 young people have attended a series of six virtual “Career and Education Expo” events run by the Cheshire and Warrington Pledge.

A consortium of nine groups from across the region, the Pledge is part of the Cheshire and Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP). Their aim is to put employers at the heart of inspiring the next generation of young people.
Responding to the many challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic the Pledge team has continued to work closely with the education sector throughout the year and in October launched its first virtual series of ‘Career and Education Expo’ events for all young people across Cheshire and Warrington.
Businesses from a variety of sectors took part in the events and more than 50 employers and education experts were on the chat function for each of the six events on LearnLive to answer any live questions asked by young people, parents and carers.
The events performed outstandingly well, receiving a combined audience of more than 22,000.
LEP chairman Clare Hayward (pictured) said: “The Cheshire and Warrington Pledge team has been working exceptionally hard throughout Covid-19 to ensure that schools across the region are still able to bring some normality to their students’ education experience.
“Young people are the key to grow the Cheshire and Warrington economy, so it is important that we continue to inspire the next generation by working with businesses and schools across the region to continue these types of events.”
Bridie Mills from DriveWorks said: “DriveWorks really enjoyed being a part of the 2020 Pledge Expo events. It was great to see the engagement and drive of the students, during such a precarious time. The event was well organised and we were proud to feature alongside many other forward-thinking businesses. The future of our region is definitely bright.”
Following from these events, the Pledge are launching a series of events this month to help young people learn more about higher education, volunteering, and apprenticeships. To find out more about these events visit https://candwgrowthhub.co.uk/whatnext/

  1. I believe that attending such events is very important for self-improvement. When I want to improve my writing skills, I participate in special training. With the help of developmental practices, I enhance my letters’ skills to write even more colourful reviews on the site https://www.writingjudge.com/ I sincerely believe that there is no limit to perfection, and development is the primary key to success!

  2. Yes, I consider it a necessity to be actively interested in career opportunities. “it is important that we continue to inspire the next generation by working with businesses and schools across the region to continue these types of events” – And I also agree with this. Sometimes students have trouble finding jobs and complete disinterest from potential employers.
