Dancers bake cakes for Disneyland trip

MEMBERS of a new dance school in Warrington are holding a fundraising cake bake on Sunday to enable them to perform at Disneyland Paris.
The DLDA dance academy is holding its cake bake at Curry’s pm the Junction 9 retail park between 12 noon and 3pm.
It’s the second bake sale they have organised – the first raised almost £250.
The dancers are thrilled to have been selected to dance at Disneyland in August.
As an inclusive dance school, they are fundraising to ensure all the dancers get the opportunity to perform, whether or not their parents can afford to pay for the trip.
The costs of costumes for individual dancers, for example, runs into many hundreds of pounds.
DLDA owners Shauna and Sophie said: “For a tiny new dance school such as ours to have an opportunity to dance for Disney, is a magical experience.
“Although it will cost a lot to go in August, we decided it is such an important event that we just had to go for it.
“Our dancers worked really hard for the audition. The youngest of our dancers is just five years old.
“We don’t want any of our dancers to miss out on account of cost, which is why we are fundraising.
“Everyone has been baking scrummy cakes to sell at the cake bake.”
Cakes will cost from 50 pence each up to £1.
