A CAMPAIGN to prepare motorists for driving in the winter is being launched by the council’s road safety team.
The focus of the campaign is to get drivers ready for travelling in the winter months, to ensure they are prepared for adverse weather conditions, and to also provide information for drivers on prescribed medication.
The road safety team will be at different locations throughout the month offering advice to residents as part of the campaign until Friday 30 November.
Come along to one of the events below for advice, information and a free driver pack including leaflets, an emergency crash card, ice scraper, tyre depth check key ring and loads more!
The events open to the public are as follows:
6th November – Warrington Hospital – from 9am
9th November – Asda Westbrook – from 10am
15th November – Asda Birchwood – from 10am
20 November – Morrisons Stockton Heath – from 10am
Sessions are expected to last for a couple of hours and finishing times may vary.
Cllr Linda Dirir, executive board member for highways, transportation and climate change, said: “The winter weather can bring hazardous driving conditions that we need to be prepared for and it can be simple things like keeping a torch and blanket in the boot of your car.
“The road safety team is passionate about promoting safety messages and I hope motorists make full use of the advice and information that is available so that we can all stay safe on our roads during the winter.”
