TWO artists who won awards at last year’s Warrington Contemporary Arts Festival are currently preparing for their own solo exhibitions in the town.
Artist David Foster and photographer Terry Johnson will be exhibiting their work at The Gallery at Bank Quay House and the Pyramid from Friday, September 6.
David’s journey into art stemmed from a career in architecture. After a serious illness took hold, he asked himself what he wanted to do in the next stage of his life.
As a trained draughtsman David was always technical and precise with a pen. After experimenting with different materials he “hit the nail on the head” literally and replaced ink with nails.
His unique approach to his medium stood out to all judges as he was crowned winner of last year’s festivalp
Around the corner at Culture Warrington’s Pyramid, photography open winner Terry Johnson will also be exhibiting his winning works.
Through his images Terry embraces elements of the natural world that would normally go unnoticed or simply ignored.
Warrington born Terry said: “I hope for a great turnout and a memorable opening night for all who are involved”
The two artists will be present at the opening of both exhibitions and ready to talk to visitors.
