Meet the youth ambassador – on video

CHESHIRE Police and Crime Commissioners newly-appointed youth ambassador has introduced himself to the county’s young people – on video.
Rogers, aged 23, was appointed by Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner John Dwyer.
He took on the role on July 15 – and has recorded the video which can be see on the website www.cheshire-pcc.gov.uk
Mr Dwyer said: “Twenty three per cent of the of Cheshire are under 18, and I don’t want young people to be excluded from influencing the development of the police service.
“I’ve appointed Dominic to work with young people and give them a voice so they can talk about their needs and experiences and help me to shape my decisions.”
Dominic said: “I’m going to spend the next couple of months going around the county and introducing myself to people face-to-face, but I thought this was a quick way to let young people know that I’m here.
“By introducing myself it allows me to ask the young people for their opinions, and give them the opportunity to ask me questions or tell me any issues they may have.”

  1. Young people just love being called ‘young people’ by older people, don’t they? And when I say older I think this actually includes this not so youthful youth ambassador. Good job they asked him to take his tie off before he did that video otherwise the whole thing might seem terribly patronising. Two months meeting people face to face? Is there any focus on outcomes at all?
